Shoshone County Republicans

Who are we?

panhandleWe are men and women who call Shoshone County our home. We are loggers, miners, truck drivers and bike riders, shop owners and shoppers; employees and employers. Some of us are younger than you might expect. We are the diners, waiters and waitresses you meet and chat with at the restaurant. We are the man or woman you wave to as you drive by us on the streets. We are tradesmen, craftsmen, professionals ... workers of all kinds. Some of us are unemployed. Some of us are retired. We are quick learners and good teachers. We all love America. We attend churches, lodges and support civic groups and school sports. We hunt, fish and love the outdoors. A few of us have trouble getting outdoors.

We, the members of the Shoshone County Republican Party, have sons and daughters in the US Military, in colleges, and in local schools. We believe a strong America is a secure America. We also believe it is up to an engaged, informed citizenry to keep it that way. We understand that our elected representatives work for us ... not the other way around.

We are parents and grandparents. Some of the lucky ones are great-grandparents. Our children and grandchildren are counting on us to leave them a nation filled with the same promise it carried when it was passed to us. We don't plan to let them down.

Some of us are the descendants of pioneers who settled this county. Some of us arrived more recently. We all want a strong, healthy, prosperous community where we can peacefully live among our friends and neighbors.

There are a lot of us. In the presidential election of 2008 more Shoshone County voters cast their ballot for John McCain than for Barack Obama.

Look over the information on this web site. Take a closer look at who we are. We might surprise you!
